On Sep 25-26, the 2018 Overseas Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week in Vancouver• the Roadshow & Forum has been successfully held in Canada. In recent years, the Overseas Business Startups and Innovation Week has become an important platform for high-level talents to know about the environment of innovation and business startups at home and abroad and to develop their own business. The activity has attracted many people of wisdom and brought in talents and funds, which helps the Chinese enterprises and scientific institutions develop their high-tech projects and promote cooperation with overseas companies.
The activity was sponsored by the organizing committee of the Overseas Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week and the organizing committee of the Chinese Overseas Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week; it was hosted by Dalian Development and Reform Commission and the regulatory commission of Dalian High-tech Industrial Zone, coordinated by the Dongbei Chamber of Commerce in Canada and the foundation of Canadian International Education.
Participants are representatives of innovation groups and organizations as well as celebrities in politics and commercial field. Firstly, the delegation made a brief introduction to the Overseas Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week and then exchanged ideas with each other. They also reached a preliminary agreement about cooperation.
On Sep 26, all the projects did their roadshows and finally three projects were selected to enter the final. Among those three projects, one is the wearable real-time monitor for pulmonary disease. This product belongs to the project of intelligent medical devices with the advantages of easy installation, cloud platform data management and easy expansion. Currently, clinical trials have been conducted in more than 200 patients in three Canadian hospitals and approved by Health Canada.
The second project, BioConcius, uses medical sensors and wearable devices to capture valuable data and use artificial intelligence techniques to predict disease outbreaks and complications. With more than 4,000 users since January 2018, DiaBits is the only reliable one to predict future blood glucose. The third project is to help wireless devices get visual information through in-depth neurological learning. Now the first product, the Fall Prevention Device for the , has been developed.
Besides the Overseas Business Startups and Innovation Week, the forum was held simultaneously. Both participants and the Dongbei Chamber of Commerce in Canada have expressed their willingness to work with each other.
